Rocawear to Launch ‘Battleship’ Themed Collection
After months of dramatic promotion, the underwater alien action flick Battleship finally hits screens Friday in a stroke of pre-summer, sub-blockbuster fanfare. But we’ve yet to see the full extent of its marketing prowess: Jay-Z‘s Rocawear brand announced yesterday afternoon they are partnering with Hasbro on a limited edition clothing collection inspired by the film.
Infused with Battleship imagery, the designs otherwise fall in line with other streetwear looks we’ve come to expect from the label. Jay-Z lyrics and fearless attitude abound: the T-shirts, which will retail for $28 to $39.50, feature sample prints that read “Show Me What You Got” (over the ship’s looming silhouette), “99 Problems (But My Ship Ain’t One, Hit Me!”), and a “Bring ‘Em Out” brag. There are also military fatigue-themed jackets for $79.50, denim for $69.50, and polo shirts for men and women for $59.50. The line hits Macy’s stores nationwide this month.
