‘Breaking Bad’ Selling Off Charred Teddy Bear, Walt’s Aztek
Walter White’s Pontiac Aztek, a hazmat suit, a charred pink teddy bears: those and more props from Breaking Bad can be yours, thanks to the new auction site screenbid.com, which will sell off movie and TV props to fans. The site intends to help studios profit from getting rid of props that would otherwise end up in storage, or sold on eBay or Craigslist by people who removed them from the set, The New York Times reports.
“We have Walt’s Aztek and the Monte Carlo,” in addition to other items, said Bill Block, a film producer joining entrepreneur Jeffrey A. Dash in founding Screenbid.
‘Breaking Bad’ Stars Raise Over $1 Million for Charity
Block estimates that certain props from Breaking Bad could yield more than $2 million at auction.
The Breaking Bad auction will begin on September 29th, the same day as the series’ final episode. Some items, including hazmat suits, the teddy bear and multiple vehicles, are already listed, while others won’t be until after the final episode in an effort to avoid plot spoilers.
Sony Pictures is working with the auction site, but will be keeping several key props that include White’s and Pinkman’s mobile meth lab, a Fleetwood Bounder RV. The RV will be used for on-the-lot tours at the studio.
