Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Roast Don Rickles
Roasting Don Rickles, the king of insult comics is no easy task — unless you’re Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. In a new preview clip from Spike’s upcoming One Night Only: An All-Star Comedy Tribute to Don Rickles, Fey mourns the absence of Rickles before Poehler corrects her: “Tina, he is here.”
“Jesus,” Fey replies, “I thought that was somebody’s purse.”
The two also took a few jabs at the event itself, with Poehler teasing, “So here we are because they thought it was important for Don to be honored by at least one woman — which apparently is what we count as.”
Below, you can also check out Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro‘s heartwarming tribute to Rickles, in which the director and actor point out an interesting coincidence. After doing eight pictures together, Scorsese notes that he and De Niro made Casino with Rickles — and they haven’t worked together since. “On behalf of Leo DiCaprio, thanks a lot,” De Niro chides.
One Night Only: An All-Star Comedy Tribute to Don Rickles will air May 28th at 9 p.m. ET on Spike. The special will also feature appearances by Jon Stewart, Jerry Seinfeld, David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, Tracy Morgan, Johnny Depp, John Stamos, Bob Newhart, Regis Philbin, Ray Romano, Brad Garrett and more.
