Karen O Wrote Track for Spike Jonze Film ‘Her’
Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Karen O were all over the trailer for Spike Jonze’s new film Her, but while one of the songs was recognizable as “Skeletons” from 2009’s It’s Blitz!, the other was a mysterious, ethereal track laced with Karen O’s unmistakeable vocals. It turns out that song is an original called “The Moon Song,” written specifically for the film, the band said in a Facebook post sharing the trailer.

Though “The Moon Song” was penned for Her, it’s uncertain what role Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Karen O’s music will play in the film. Arcade Fire have already been revealed through the credits to be scoring the movie, though Karen O wrote the soundtrack to Jonze’s last film, 2009’s Where the Wild Things Are.
Her is a sci-fi romance starring Joaquin Phoenix as a man who purchases the world’s first artificially intelligent computer operating system, voiced by Scarlett Johansson, and falls in love with her. The film also stars Chris Pratt, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara and Olivia Wilde. It’s set for a November 20th release.
