Neko Case Aims to Save Shelter Animals
Neko Case is using the attention surrounding her upcoming album to spotlight a cause close to her heart, teaming with the Best Friends Animal Society to help save shelter animals with a new “Save Them All” public service announcement.
Case and her label, Anti- Records, will donate $5 to Best Friends for every website that posts the new PSA, and for every supporter who shares the video on social media. The arrangement mirrors one she made for her last album, 2009’s Middle Cyclone, when Case and Anti- donated $5 for every blog that posted her song “People Got a Lotta Nerve,” for free download.

“Best Friends Animal Society was one of the very first organizations to challenge the idea that killing animals in shelters was acceptable,” Case said in a statement. “When they began, 17 million animals died every year in shelters. For nearly 30 years, Best Friends has been building life-saving programs, reducing the number of animals entering shelters and helping more and more find homes. Today, thanks to caring people like you, that number is down to four million. Now it’s time to save them all. Join Best Friends and me in this fight.”
Case’s new album, The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You, is due September 3rd.
