Mount Kimbie Get Lonely in ‘Home Recording’ – Premiere
British electronic duo Mount Kimbie released their second LP, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth, back in May. With its elegant blend of jazzy ambiences and dubstep textures, the album conjures vivid imagery by itself – and with this moody new clip for “Home Recording,” director Anthony Dickenson has created a perfect companion for the music’s evocative drift. In it, he weaves together images of bare trees, desolate buildings and the wistful glances of lonely apartment dwellers.

Bandmember Kai Campos is enthusiastic about the video’s tapestry of images. “We were excited by Anthony Dickenson’s enthusiasm for trying a new technique in merging shots to create something that was bigger than the locations it was shot in,” he says. “[It’s] a multi-dimensional landscape with no direct reference to a specific place – more a familiar but fictional reality.”
