Jimmy Fallon Challenges Mullet-Wearing Hugh Jackman to ‘Musical Beers’
Jimmy Fallon loves to challenge his Tonight Show guests to silly, beer-swigging games – it was only a matter of time before he tried out “Musical Beers.” On Thursday’s show, the host recruited guest Hugh Jackman, Chris Hemsworth (this weekend’s SNL host) and SNL cast members Bobby Moynihan, Kate McKinnon and Colin Jost to play the frat party-styled version of children’s party staple Musical Chairs.
The game is simple – or, at least, it starts out that way. In the clip, Questlove spins the Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj track “Bang Bang,” pitch-shifting and scratching along the way. The players walk around a table filled with red solo cups of beer, and when the music stops, they have to either down the contents in front of them or step aside. Fallon and Jackman – both sporting ridiculous mullet wigs – form an alliance early on, and Hemsworth joins in by requesting a terrible hair-do of his own. (“That’s a good show right there — Mullets, INC,” Fallon cracks.)
McKinnon is the first to lose, screaming “Noooo!” as she walks away, and Jackman is forced to hand over his mullet as symbolic gesture when he misses the mark. After a confusing finale – involving a sneak-attack from Jackman – Fallon ends up declaring himself the winner.
