Mastodon Slam Into ‘Dry Bone Valley’ – Premiere
Modern metal masters Mastodon kick off the live video for “Dry Bone Valley” with an extended tension-building drone before dropping into the song’s charging riffs. Drummer Brann Dailor handles the vocals, howling out “I want to keep on breathing!” while slamming down on the skins in a combination of trained precision and frantic abandon. Aside from a few tactically placed laser beams, the show is relatively unadorned. Because the band is such a tight unit, anything else would distract from what the show is all about – four guys crafting muscular, energetic, rocking metal.

The video is taken from a February 2012 show in London which is being released as Live at Brixton. The show was the last stop of the band’s world tour supporting their fifth record, The Hunter, and the set finds the band ripping through 23 songs taken from across their catalog. The show will be released in both video and audio form and will be available on December 10th. While Mastodon is working on their next album, Rolling Stone will premiere two more videos from the Brixton show on December 5th and December 9th.
