Kanye West Debuts New Music at Met Gala
Kanye West performed new music during last night’s Met Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. A handful of Vine and YouTube clips capture the MC bellowing “I am a god!” and unleashing a few screams to boot.

Though brief and not the best quality, the footage certainly fits Daft Punk member Thomas Bangalter’s description of the music he and fellow robot Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo recently worked on with West: “It was very raw; he was rapping – kind of screaming primally, actually.”
Another clip from the gala shows Kanye in more traditional hip-hop mode, spitting incomprehensible lyrics over a beat with laser-like synths. A Vine post from model Coco Rocha finds West serenading his girlfriend Kim Kardashian, his voice heavily auto-tuned as he sings, “Don’t let nobody bring you down/ You’re so awesome!”
Just recently, West Tweeted “June 18th,” ostensibly an unofficial release date for the follow-up to 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. He’s been working on the album in Paris with a slew of collaborators, including Skrillex, John Legend, Chief Keef and members of Odd Future.
