Iron and Wine Bring ‘Grace for Saints and Ramblers’ to ‘Fallon’
Sam Beam brought a lot of company with him as Iron and Wine hit the stage on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night. In keeping with the expanded sound of Ghost on Ghost, trios of horns, strings and backup singers filled out the band to perform the new album’s track “Grace for Saints and Ramblers.”
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Beam described how the song’s many influences came together. “Parts of it sound like the Hallelujah Chicken Run Band, but at the same time, we pushed it into Sam & Dave territory, an R&B revue kinda thing,” he said.
Iron and Wine head out on tour in support of Ghost on Ghost in May, starting at the Battle Rock festival in Napa, California.
