DJ Muggs Teams With Chuck D in Volatile ‘Wikid’ – Premiere
Veteran hip-hop producer DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill, House of Pain, Soul Assassins) didn’t just snatch a classic Public Enemy line for the title of his recent album (Bass for Your Face), he paired with that legendary troop’s own Chuck D to deliver “Wikid.” But despite the old-school talent, the track is hardly retro, with a forceful platform for the volatile video – which shows scenes of people smashing televisions and lobbing Molotov cocktails at police cars.
Cypress Hill, Rusko May Make an Album Together
“We harnessed the energy of Public Enemy and Cypress Hill with futuristic sounds and the aggression and vocal delivery with one of the greatest MCs ever, Mr. Chuck D,” DJ Muggs says. Aside from Chuck, Muggs is in esteemed company on his latest, which also includes Freddie Gibbs, Danny Brown and U.K. MC Dizzee Rascal.
