‘Mob City’ Trailer Shows Los Angeles Teeming With Corruption
The bloody corruption of postwar Los Angeles is at the heart of TNT’s new drama Mob City. An extended trailer released this weekend shows LAPD Police Chief William Parker (Neal McDonough) and cop Joe Teague (Walking Dead vet Jon Bernthal) in the throes of a fight for control of the city with gangsters Bugsy Siegel (Ed Burns) and Mickey Cohen (Jeremy Luke).
“Men like Mickey Cohen and Bugsy Siegel think they own this town,” the narrator says in the trailer. “But they got it wrong: This city owns you.”
Frank Darabont Breaks His ‘Walking Dead’ Silence
Directed by Frank Darabont, the man responsible for bringing The Walking Dead to TV before his departure from the show in 2011, the series is based on John Buntin’s book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City. According to the Los Angeles Times, Darabont happened to stumble upon the book at a shop at LAX two years ago and was taken by the tale. “It feels like this is my life’s work,” Darabont told the paper. “I’ve traded in the zombies for mobsters.”
The series will air in two-hour chunks over three weeks beginning on December 4th.
