Chris Brown Has Checked Out of Rehab
Shortly before Halloween, Chris Brown voluntarily checked himself into rehab to treat his anger issues. As of today, he has checked out, according to ABC News. A rep for the controversy-prone 24-year-old said that Brown will continue to receive outpatient treatment in Los Angeles.

The singer’s decision to seek treatment followed an incident in Washington, D.C. last month. Brown allegedly punched a man in the face after the man asked him for a photo. His bodyguard also allegedly punched the man in the face. Brown was charged with a misdemeanor. If convicted, the singer faces a maximum fine of $1,000 and six months in jail. He will be facing a judge over the crime next week.
When the singer checked into rehab, his rep said, “His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.” At the time, his lawyer added, “He just decided he wanted to take some time off and do some introspection.”
The misdemeanor could possibly put Brown in legal jeopardy. He is still serving probation for assaulting Rihanna in 2009. Currently, the singer is serving over 1,000 hours of community service, which he had been attempting to finish by the time his next record, X, hit shelves. When Brown was involved in a hit-and-run in May, a crime that sent him briefly to jail, a judge added an additional 1,000 hours of community service to his previous amount for violating his probation. If an L.A. prosecutor associated with the Rihanna case determines he has violated his probation again by assaulting the man in D.C., he could serve up to four years in prison.
Brown’s rep reported to Billboard that Brown is still carrying out his community service. She added that Brown “appreciates all of your encouragement and support.”
