Dispatch Dig Into ‘Get Ready Boy’ Live – Song Premiere
Dispatch‘s expanded live sets and jammed out shows have helped define the Boston roots-rockers, and the band captured that energy for a new live double album. Ain’t No Trip to Cleveland Vol. 1 will be out June 4th, and here, Dispatch dig into “Get Ready Boy” from their latest album, Circles Around the Sun – their first full length in over a decade.
Album Premiere: Dispatch Re-energize for ‘Circles Around the Sun’
“‘Get Ready Boy’ is a punk-ish upbeat tune where we’re celebrating the seasons of life and death through the perspective of leaves that have been growing up and waiting their whole life for their grandest moment, the big fall ‘back to the ground we came from!'” multi-instrumentalist Brad Corrigan tells Rolling Stone. “This was such a fun song to write and record together because we started to hear the Proclaimers’ styled harmonies in it a bit, and a bit of Green Day energy too.”
“The studio version kicks some ass,” he continues, “but nothing tops playing it live and getting the crowds clapping, stomping and in a banjo frenzy.” Dispatch will kick off North American tour on May 29th at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
