‘Homeland’ Season Three Trailer: Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow
The official trailer for the third season of Homeland expands upon the nearly audio-only first teaser trailer – barely. It opens in a secluded clearing in the woods, where CIA operative Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) tenderly kisses goodbye her sometime-boyfriend and double agent Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis). As the wistful piano chords of Cinematic Orchestra’s “To Build a Home” swell in the background, ominous scenes play out in the foreground: a battered and bruised shot of Brody, Brody’s teenage daughter Dana going through old photographs and bowing down on what looks like a prayer mat, and Mathison being comforted by mentor Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin). “I’m so sorry,” he says, as Mathison’s contorted face turns away.
