Smokey Robinson Plans Duets Album for Fall Release
After Smokey Robinson helped mentor American Idol contestants on Detroit Music Night last night, the Motown great will be revisiting some of those tracks himself with a new duets album this fall. The still untitled album will feature Robinson hits including “My Girl,” “Cruisin’,” “The Tears of a Clown” and more. Collaborators are still under wraps, but Robinson looks to bring together both old and new influences on his music.

“Not only do I have a musical history with the guys involved, but a longstanding friendship as well,” Robinson said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to bringing our talents to the table as we collaborate on this project.”
Robinson released his latest album, Time Flies When You’re Having Fun, in 2009.
