Beck Breaks Out the Xylophone on ‘Gimme’
It’s been a busy summer for Beck, who’s been working on two albums in addition to releasing stand-alone singles “Defriended” and “I Won’t Be Long.” Now, the singer has released “Gimme,” the last song of a stand-alone trio of singles.

The new song finds Beck exploring a techy combination of xylophones and pulsing rhythms and features a bevy of distorted vocals throughout. It’s available now as a double 12-inch vinyl that features an extended length on the B-side, while the other includes “two halves of a 30-minute extended mix of the track.”
2013 has been a rather productive year for Beck, even if new music has been scarce. He’s played a handful of one-off and festival dates, helped curate the Station to Station tour and reimagined David Bowie’s “Sound and Vision” this past February.
