Jake Bugg Looks Ahead to Next Album
British up-and-comer Jake Bugg confesses that he’s not a huge fan of festivals, but even he admits he had fun after taking the stage at Coachella this year: “It was brilliant,” he says. “It’s always nice to come to another country and see the same reaction that’s been going on everywhere else. I really enjoyed it.”

Backstage in the Rolling Stone Rock Room, the singer and songwriter talked about the differences between the recording and playing live, as well as the new material he’s been toying with in the studio, adding he hopes to release his second album sometime next year.
Bugg said he wants to maintain a similar balance of melancholy and upbeat tunes on the next album that he achieved on his recent debut, but added: “Maybe third, fourth record, if I ever get to that stage, then see where it develops from there, but I kinda want to keep the same thing I’m doing now. But maybe with a hint of something that’s in the step of where I’m gonna go to in the future. Whatever that is, we’ll find out when I get in the studio.”
