‘March of the Afrojack’ Includes Time to Reflect – Premiere
Afrojack pauses for a moment of reflection before taking on Beyond Wonderland and Miami Music Week in March of the Afrojack – Part III (Beyond Wonderland and Vegas). The DJ marvels at his job description, and admits that sometimes he’s unsure what he should play for the loud crowds eagerly awaiting his sets. All of his doubts diminish, though, once he’s on stage.
Afrojack: ‘I Want My Grandma to Understand My Music’
In addition to the wild lifestyle that comes with being an EDM legend, Afrojack’s priorities lie with his daughter, Vegas. He flies in for her birthday and says that he hopes to raise her as conventionally as possible, but works so much in an effort to ensure that her future is safe.
“When I step on stage it’s a rush, it’s a feeling like nothing else. I love making music and creating an amazing, energetic show for the crowd, but the love of my life is my daughter,” he says.
But that love also comes at the expense of not spending as much time together as he’d like.
“In this career I have to make a lot of sacrifices and one of those is not getting to be with her all of the time. Being away from my daughter is hard, I hate it, but I know that by me doing this now I can build a beautiful future for her. That’s the most important thing to me, taking care of her and knowing she’ll have every opportunity in life.”
Afrojack will be releasing his new single, “The Spark,” on October 11th on Island Records.
