Kid Rock Offers $5,000 to Catch Attempted Burglar
A would-be burglar attemped to rob the wrong rock star last week. A man driving a white Ford van rammed the front gates of Kid Rock‘s Clarkston, MI home on Wednesday, but failed to actually break into a building on the property, Billboard reports. The entire incident was captured on security cameras and Kid Rock sprung to action, offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
“Thank God I was not on the property at the time of this attempted break in. I am an avid hunter and marksman and I will not hesitate to shoot anyone who has myself or family in fear for our lives,” Kid Rock wrote on his website in a post tited “Don’t mess with a Motherfucker Like Me.” “I take the invasion of my personal space very seriously,” he added, noting he was “currently profiling any balding white male on crutches driving a white creeper van.”
Rock’s post may have done the trick — as of Saturday, a suspect who fits the description of the van driver (who, yes, may have been on crutches) had been taken into custody following tips that led to his arrest. No word yet whether Rock has paid the helpful tipsters.
