Slash Records Theme for ‘Angry Birds Space’
As a fan of Angry Birds since 2010, Slash was a natural choice to record the theme music for Angry Birds Space, the latest version of the game. The new cranked up version of the theme is featured in the newest update for the game app, and appears in the title screen. In this clip, Slash plugs in and plays along with the tune and lays it down in the studio while talking about why he got involved with the series.

“When [creator] Rovio approached me about actually playing my own take on the Angry Birds theme, it went back and forth a few times between the actual Angry Birds theme note-for-note . . . and then they asked for something a little bit different,” says the former Guns N’ Roses guitarist, who also now has his own Angry Birds avatar. With loose guidelines, Slash had plenty of wiggle room, and after tweaking it on the road in hotel rooms between shows, he was came up with the final version.
Angry Birds is no stranger to rock: last year, Green Day got their own episode in the series and Queen‘s Freddie Mercury was honored with his own Angry Bird.
