Pearl Jam Preps ‘Ten’ Reissue
Pearl Jam‘s first and best-selling album, 1991’s Ten, is being rereleased on March 24th with extensive bonus material, including six unreleased songs. The centerpiece of the set is a complete remix and remaster of the original album by producer Brendan O’Brien, who didn’t work on Ten, but oversaw four of the band’s Nineties records. A deluxe edition of the reissue will include a DVD of the group’s 1992 MTV Unplugged performance, an LP of a Seattle show from the same year and a cassette replica of Eddie Vedder‘s original audition tape for Pearl Jam. The long-fabled tape – featuring Vedder singing early versions of “Alive” and “Once” – was recently found in the private collection of Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament. More rereleases are planned over the next two years, leading up to the band’s 20th anniversary in 2011.
