Taylor Swift Reveals Massive 1989 World Tour
Taylor Swift‘s 2015 calendar has just filled up. Fresh off selling upwards of 1.25 million copies of her new album 1989, the singer has unveiled plans for a giant world tour that’ll keep her on the road for the better part of next year. “So yeah, #The1989WorldTour is happening!! I CANNOT WAIT,” Swift tweeted. The platinum-selling singer also shared a brief trailer for the 1989 Tour.
The massive trek kicks off May 20th at Bossier City, Louisiana’s CenturyLink Center and will work its way north until late-June, when Swift will head off to Europe for five dates across the Atlantic. She’ll return to North America on July 6th for a gig at Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre, at which point she’ll play North American stadiums and arenas up until a leg-ending Halloween gig at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium.
Vance Joy, whose “Riptide” Swift recently covered, will serve as the “Shake It Off” singer’s opening act throughout the North American dates. Shawn Mendes will also join the tour on select dates.
No ticket information has been revealed yet, but Swift recommends fans join her mailing list for exclusive pre-sale info. Following the North American leg of the 1989 World Tour, Swift will travel to Australia in December 2015, though the exact dates and venues have not yet been announced.
