‘Two and a Half Men’ Adds Female Character to Replace Angus T. Jones
Two and a Half Men will introduce a new female character to replace Angus T. Jones‘ Jake Harper following the completion of the show’s 10th season, Deadline reports.
Although the role is yet to be cast, the character is said to be in her late teens or early 20s. She shows up at the house of Ashton Kutcher‘s character Walden Schmidt, claiming to be the daughter of the recently deceased Charlie Harper, played by former cast member Charlie Sheen. The character is expected to move in with Walden and her uncle Alan Harper (Jon Cryer).
‘Two and a Half Men’ Star Angus T. Jones Calls Show ‘Filth’
The move marks another significant shift for the cast of Two and a Half Men, which was just renewed for an 11th season. Jones sealed his departure as a series regular last year when he described the show as “filth” during an interview with the Christian group Forerunner Chronicles. “You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that,” Jones said. “I know I can’t. I’m not OK with what I’m learning, what the Bible says and being on that television show.”
Jones later apologized, and finished out the season despite the controversy. He could appear occasionally as a guest star going forward, now that his character is said to be off at college.
Sheen was infamously fired from the show in 2011 following his bizarre meltdown that found him bashing the show and creator Chuck Lorre. His character was subsequently killed off and replaced by Kutcher’s.
