Royal Bangs Battle Attacking Balloons in ‘Better Run’ – Premiere
Ahead of Royal Bangs’ fourth album Brass – which was produced by the Black Keys’ Patrick Carney and is due out on September 17th – the Knoxville, Tennessee, band delivers an inventive clip for its infectious new song “Better Run.” Pursued by large white balloons, the video’s lone actor runs like hell, only to be tackled. When he exacts his revenge by stabbing the attacking balloons, he is met with splattering liquids and powders.

The group recorded their followup to 2011’s acclaimed Flux Outside at Haptown Studios in Nashville in May 2012 with Carney. “I was really excited to get to produce a Royal Bangs album,” Carney said. “I discovered them about six years ago and became so obsessed that I released their first two albums on my label, Audio Eagle, but this is the first chance I’ve had to actually help them make an album. They are one of those bands that just keep getting better and better and I couldn’t be more proud to have been involved with this album and band.”
Look for Royal Bangs on the road this summer supporting Jimmy Eat World beginning August 2 in Toronto. The trek – which includes a stop at New York’s Central Park SummerStage on August 7th – wraps at the Vic in Chicago on August 18th.
