Gucci Mane Faces Arrest Warrant for Assault
Atlanta police have reportedly issued an assault warrant for Gucci Mane after a soldier claimed that the rapper hit him in the head with a champagne bottle.
Atlanta’s WSBTV reports that Mane (whose real name is Radric Davis) was promoting his new mixtape from the VIP section of the Harlem Nights club on March 15th when a soldier asked the club’s security guard if he could take a picture with the rapper.
“I was speaking to the security guard, and Gucci Mane hit me in the head with a bottle,” the solider, who would only identify himself by his first name, James, told the news station. “And as I looked at him in the shock of why, one of his friends hit me in the side of my face.”

James said that he was then taken in an ambulance to the hospital, where he received 10 stitches, and is suffering from a concussion.
“We do have an active warrant for Mr. Davis for aggravated assault,” Atlanta Police Department Lieutenant Jeff Cantin said. “So I’m sure after he sees this, I’m sure he’ll want to reach out and contact us.”
The 33-year-old rapper, who plays James Franco’s rival in the film Spring Breakers, has a long history of run-ins with the law. In April 2011, he was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly pushing a woman out of a moving car, and had previously been arrested on charges including probation violation and reckless driving.
