Usher and Darius Rucker Join Blake Shelton’s Oklahoma Tornado Benefit
Usher and Darius Rucker have joined the lineup for Blake Shelton’s concert to benefit those affected by the recent Oklahoma tornado, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Shelton, an Oklahoma native, organized and will headline Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert, set to air May 29th on NBC at 9 p.m. EST. Along with Usher, Shelton’s colleague on The Voice, and Rucker, the Hootie and the Blowfish-frontman turned country star; the show will include performances from Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, Reba McEntire and Vince Gill.
Blake Shelton Organizing Benefit for Oklahoma Tornado Relief
According to NBC, tickets for the concert at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City sold out in less than five minutes after going on sale Saturday morning.
Proceeds from the show will go to the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund and will be used for immediate, intermediate and long-term recovery and rebuilding. A handful of tornadoes tore through Oklahoma last week; one left at least 24 people dead and 240 injured on Monday after its 200 mph winds touched down in Moore, Oklahoma, for 40 minutes.
