Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. Have a Hectic, Hometown Record Store Day in Detroit
Daniel Zott arrives at Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. co-founder Josh Epstein's house for coffee on the day of their first concert of 2013. The band is playing at the Majestic Theater in Detroit; it's their second annual concert there to celebrate Record Store Day. They are excited to debut a new live show and start picking out stage clothes to wear.

A Chihuahua Named Potato
Zott and Epstein go over the evening's setlist together on the morning of the show. Zott says hello to Epstein's dog, a chihuahua named Potato.

Record Store Day
The guys load boxes of vinyl into the car and head out to their local record store, UHF in Royal Oak, to sign copies for fans on Record Store Day. The band is releasing the vinyl version of their new EP, Patterns, with two additional remixes.

The wintry Detroit weather finally starts to warm as Epstein and Zott leave for the record store.

Though they're at the store to help out and meet fans, the guys can't resist looking through the crates to see what exclusive records just came out.

Lost and Found
The guys head to their favorite clothing store, Lost and Found, located next door to UHF. They check out some jean jackets and discuss plans for denim-themed images, as well as the merits of a particular jacket featuring a homemade AC/DC logo on the back.

Autograph
A fan catches wind of the band in the clothing store and approaches, asking them to sign the EP he just purchased. Daniel takes a few moments to sign his copy of Patterns.

Daniel notices a set of matching sunglasses with wild patterns on them and insists they try them on. "We should get these. . . 'cause they're patterns, like our album!"

8 Mile Road
At 2 p.m., Zott and Epstein head to a production rental company on 8 Mile Road to pick up confetti cannons for the evening's show.

Epstein orders three tacos of the same type while Zott orders three different ones. It's a little peek into their psyches as they begin to eat lunch.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. walk around the entire venue, making sure the visuals are visible from all angles.

After the show, Mike, Daniel and Josh are joined by Daniel's brother and the band's touring sound tech, Jon, at Green Dot Stables for a drink.

At 1:30 a.m., drummer Michael Higgins is constantly smiling and full of jokes.

Astro Coffee
While at Astro Coffee, the band runs into a friend and discusses the previous evening's show. Higgins becomes enamored with a small toy car on a nearby coffee machine.

Loading Out
After a long night, the Majestic Theater graciously agrees to allow the band to load out the following morning. As such, Mike, Josh and Daniel meet for coffee at Astro early that day.
