Listen: Queens of the Stone Age Debut Two New Tracks
Queens of the Stone Age performed two new cuts during an in-studio session for a Belgian radio station earlier today. Below, you can take a listen to rips of “I Sat by the Ocean” and “If I Had a Tail,” which will appear on the band’s upcoming album …Like Clockwork.

Both songs keep tight, steady grooves and pulse with sludgy guitar riffs: While there’s a eerie pop tinge to “I Sat by the Ocean” – which finds frontman Josh Homme showing off his falsetto and ripping a wailing solo to close it out – “If I Had a Tail” is a slightly darker affair with a chorus following a maddening, descending riff.
Queens of the Stone Age have already released one studio cut from their long-awaited new LP, “My God Is the Sun,” and you can also preview “I Appear Missing.” . . . Like Clockwork is set for release on June 4th on Matador records, and will feature a slew of guests including the band’s original bassist Nick Olivieri, Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Elton John, Mark Lanegan and Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears.
