Kanye West Posts ‘I Am a God’ Studio Teaser
It only lasts for 31 seconds, but Kanye West has offered up a teaser for his hotly anticipated album Yeezus, out June 18th. The clip finds West laying down vocals for expected album cut “I Am A God” alongside Rick Rubin, who lovingly chides the rapper for his line about stacking millions being “more relatable” to people. (The short clip was initially posted on West’s website, though it’s unsurprisingly found it’s way to YouTube as well.)

Rubin, who was recruited last minute and credited as executive producer, is one of countless collaborators on Yeezus: The list includes Daft Punk, Wu-Tang‘s RZA, Justin Vernon, Chief Keef, and Hudson Mohawke. In a sprawling interview with the New York Times about his career and Yeezus, West said he wanted to work with Rubin because of his minimalist aesthetic, which West was seeking after the maximalism of his previous records.
West performed “I Am A God” as well as a handful of other tracks during his headlining set at Governor’s Ball in New York City this past weekend, and also aired the cut at a listening session in New York.
