TLC Replace Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes on Remix of ‘Waterfalls’
TLC has upset the family of their late member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes with a newly released version of their hit “Waterfalls.” In the updated version, Lopes’ verse is subbed with one from Japanese pop star Namie Amuro.

The new track is a 20th anniversary remix intended for TLC‘s fans in Japan, where they performed last weekend. The duo – Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas – received the Legends Award from MTV Japan and performed a medley of songs, with Lopes’ mother and sister in the audience.
“I did not know about it until a fan posted it online,” Left Eye’s sister Reigndrop Lopes told TMZ, adding that her mom was hurt by the remix. “I mean, it would have been nice if they would have given us a heads up before being surprised.” Lopes goes on to say that she is ok with the remix as long as it’s only released in Japan, however.
Meanwhile, TLC are set to perform at Pennsylvania’s Mixtape Festival on July 27th, their first U.S. show since 2009. They’re also planning their first new album in 10 years while working on re-recording their hits for an upcoming VH1 biopic, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.
