Kid Rock Puckers Up for New Album ‘First Kiss’
Kid Rock will return with a new album, First Kiss, set for release on February 24th on his new label, Warner Bros. The album was produced by Rock himself — save for two tracks co-produced with Dann Huff — and recorded at his Michigan studio.
A single, as well as an accompanying video, are scheduled to arrive at the top of 2015, while a massive summer tour with Rock’s Twisted Brown Trucker Band is also in the works. Rock set about writing and recording First Kiss soon after returning home from his $20 Best Night Ever Tour, which followed the release of his 2012 LP, Rebel Soul.
After 2013’s Best Night Ever trek — an ambitious and generous outing where the musician made sure seats, merchandise and even beers were reasonably priced — Rock spent much of this year off the road, playing a handful of shows including the Rocklahoma festival and a set on the high seas as part of his own Chillin’ the Most Cruise.
During his time off, however, Rock found find himself caught up in a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against the Insane Clown Posse by their former publicist, Andrea Pellegrini. Rock was subpoenaed over a glass sex toy he was allegedly given by “Dirty Dan” Diamond, a former employee of ICP’s label Psychopathic Records, who initially tried to give it to Pellegrini after she said she was single.
Rock fervently rebuffed the charges, claiming on his website that he’d never met anyone involved in the case, and accusing lawyers for both parties of using him to attract publicity: “I don’t care what you do when you finally catch up to the ambulances you chase, but I do care when you bring my name into it for no reason at all.”
