Steven Spielberg Takes on ‘American Sniper’ Project
Steven Spielberg will be taking on a new project based on Chris Kyle’s American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History. According to The Associated Press, Spielberg will direct the film, which will feature Bradley Cooper. Spread screenwriter Jason Hall has penned the adaptation.

Kyle was considered the deadliest marksman in U.S. military history. He and a friend were killed earlier this year at a North Texas gun range, and an Iraq war veteran is charged with their deaths. Kyle and his friend were trying to help the vet deal with post-traumatic stress disorder. Kyle was writing another book, American Gun: A History of the U.S. in Ten Firearms, at the time of his death.
